We had been looking for a place to call home in North Carolina when a family tragedy brought an unexpected blessing—a chance to preserve the generational farmland in Whiteville. During this process, we developed a deep affection for the farm and the welcoming community of downtown Whiteville.
While exploring the area, we discovered the historic Esso-Gulf gas station building, built in 1921. Encouraged by the building’s owner and others in the downtown community, it perfectly matched our criteria and fit our vision like a glove—Retail Space meets Cold Cut Room.
As Downtown Whiteville undergoes a revitalization, we are elated to be part of this promising resurgence, eagerly anticipating the unfolding of the next century with optimism and a commitment to contributing to the town’s thriving legacy.
